The Gift of Healing

What is the first thing you do when you hurt yourself? Most likely, you touch the injured part and quite automatically send healing energy to that part. Think of how mothers touch their children when they are hurt, rubbing a sore, kissing a pain away. The attention and love of these simple reactions are healing by nature.

How we are at any given time, is expressed through our energy. The energy field that surrounds a person is called the aura; it is constantly moving and changing in accord with the person's flow of energy. The life energy that penetrates everything is called the Universal Energy Field. We are all connected in this field. Healers learn to regulate their personal energy field to utilize it for healing while accessing energy from the Universal Field to effect change in the human energy field of the client.

The aura can be perceived by using High Sense Perception. This refers to the senses that expand beyond what we consider the normal range. Rather than seeing with just the physical eyes, a healer may use clairvoyance which is the ability to see things others may not - like the colors or characteristics of the aura. Clairaudience is the ability to hear what is not heard with the common sense of hearing - perhaps an internal voice that harbors messages; clairsentience is the ability to feel things that are not palpable with our sense of touch. Intuition is a powerful tool for healers; it is a vague sense of knowing information that may not usually be available. With these and other extrasensory skills, a healer is able to interact with the energy field and modulate it.

Healers use their intention to regulate energy. Intent brings us to the heart of healing and to a philosophical mystery. When we intend to heal, we instantly mobilize life energy and create millions of biochemical and bioelectrical changes. In this way, mind exerts influence over matter. Intention is holding attention on a desired outcome. Attention is focused awareness; it energizes the object of attention. When a child is hurt , one of his most desperate needs is attention. The hurt parts of us desire to be seen and held, even if it seems they would rather hide or disappear.

A loving healing presence is essential for healing to occur. Healings are intended to serve the highest good of the client and healer. The healer is holding the intention to allow Divine will to direct the healing. Being in the moment, practicing exquisite listening and focusing loving attention allows healers to shift into a non ordinary state of consciousness and interact with subtle levels of energy in the client's field. Bringing attention first to oneself, the healer then begins to resonate with what is needing attention in the client. The client's body and auric field will lead the healer to identify whatever energy block or distortion is presently in need. The healer may sense an accumulation of energy in a particular part of the body or might rollback in time to see influential contributions to the current imbalance. An accumulation of physical injuries, emotional wounds, or other factors may cause distortion in the naturally preferred flow of energy through the body.

By matching the frequency of the expressed distress the healer lovingly holds the suffering. With this holding, relief is often experienced. The healer may use intention to lift stagnated energy, to change the course of energy, to release past trauma on the energetic level or to return natural order to the area. The healer follows the client's lead - what presents is not the agenda of the healer, but is determined by the cellular memory and sub conscience of the client. Only what the body is ready to release or change will be accessible. Numerous specialized techniques are employed to charge, balance or repair the field. Healers also work with the chakras which are energy centers that relate to specific organs and facets of life.

The origin of pain comes from the belief that we are separate: separate from everyone else and separate from whatever we consider the Divine. In striving to feel connected, we attempt to please others to prove that we are good. By doing this we move away from our innate wisdom and create a mask in order to feel accepted. Our lower self does not want to feel any pain - including the pain of feeling wrong, hurt or neglected. Negativity is enjoyed by the lower self and maintains separation. In order to defend our negative actions we tend to blame others; we forget and deny how we have been hurt. Little do we know that this creates more pain, keeps our positive feelings at bay and takes us further from our truth. The way we constantly distort our energy field with our habitual defense system causes pain and illness.

Under the pain of repeated wounding, the mask of how we try to keep ourselves safe in the world, and the defense we create to protect the mask, is the precious essence of the client. Energy that comes directly from the core creates pleasure, good health and fulfilling life. The way to remember who we are, to create our lives the way we want them to be and feel safe, is to connect with our core essence. Healing is about remembering who we truly are. It is reconnecting to our core in areas we have disconnected. Our core is what we are born with; we never lose it but it gets buried under the mask and defense.

Each of us longs to understand and express ourselves from our core. By charging, balancing and clearing the energy field, the innate desire to live from the core essence is promoted. Healers hold the energy of the core essence along with the suffering. The life force longs to be fulfilled. With recognition, touch, attention and love, we begin to remember who we are - we bring consciousness to our inner divinity, we recognize that we are not separate or alone and we heal. Healing comes from within; the healer facilitates the journey.

"Above all else, use your illness to set yourself free
to do what you have always wanted to do,
to be who you have always wanted to be, to manifest and express
who you already are from your deepest, broadest and highest reality."
